The names of the selected works that participate in this first edition of the LAAB have already been announced. This initiative is a laboratory for adaptation to the audiovisual sector of literary works edited and published linked to the city of Barcelona. It is promoted by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona through the Barcelona Film Commission. Its objective is to help producers or programmers of the audiovisual sector to acquire intellectual property rights of literary works to use them in multiple production proposals and distribution windows.

Various specialists will analyse the books and their capacity to be adapted to the audiovisual medium. Six of these works will receive an economic aid of 5,000 euros to facilitate the first version of the script.

The LAAB will organize an event on July 9th in El Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria (Comercial Square, 12) at 9:30 am in which all the participating works will be presented to the representatives of the audiovisual sector with the ability to lead their development: producers, antennae and scriptwriters. In this official presentation the projects that receive financial aid will be known and these and the rest of the works will be presented to these representatives. And the environment will be propitiated to create the connections that allow them to become audiovisual works.
