Raúl is a calm and conservative guy. He has a girlfriend and a job that he likes, but his life falls apart when he is diagnosed with heart cancer, and his partner, oblivious to this, breaks up with him. Marta is a publicist allergic to commitment, happy not to have to explain herself to anyone until she discovers she is pregnant.

Ironically, Raúl and Marta meet at the funeral of a high school classmate and resume their friendship, putting their beliefs to the test: that she can fall in love even when she is a disbeliever and that he can meet the woman of his life... when his life it can be short.
