Paco, a boy of humble origins, is trying to go through life amidst a very unfavourable social and family environment. He lives in a run-down estate in the suburbs of a big city, where he shares a house with his father, a loser and an alcoholic, and Manolo, his elder brother, a violent thug and small-scale drug consumer and trafficker. Nadia is a teenage girl of Moroccan origin insistent on getting to university, but she clashes with her obtuse father and brother who want her to be just a wife and a mother. When Paco and Nadia meet each other they will feel a breath of new hope, but it will also unfold a series of threatening obstacles. In such a hostile world, the couple can only rely on the assistance of Rafa, a teacher so committed to his educational vocation that will even risk his personal stability.
