In 1725 Francesc de Castellví - a survivior of the 11th of September 1714 battle for Barcelona - went into exile in Vienna to write the definitive work on the Spanish Succession War in Catalonia: the Narraciones Históricas, a colossal work of 12,000 pages written over 32 years. Today, a prominent Catalan journalist, Mònica Terribas, retrieves this gargantuan piece of work and, immersing herself in its pages, questions the causes of a European conflict which severly punished the Iberian peninsula with a cruel civil war.
