This 21st century cultural space reveals the vibrant and dynamic Barcelona of 1700 and recounts the events of 1714, all within the context of the War of the Spanish Succession.
El Born archaeological site is one of a kind in Europe not only for its remarkable state of conservation, but also for the historical events it bore witness to. Furthermore, legal documentation has permitted researchers to identify the citizens who lived in this neighbourhood before its demolition at the orders of King Philip V. The old El Born Market (1876), cast-iron and glass cathedral, was designed by Josep Fontserè.
El Born Centre Cultural is a versatile space open to all audiences and features a diverse activities programme encompassing literature, theatre, music and much more.
