Scouting in Catalonia

04/01/2015

"Scouting in Catalonia" is a project sponsored by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Catalan Tourism Office.

It consists on a photographic exhibition; the publishing of a book and finally in an international meeting of professionals of this field.

Scouting is an essential job in each audiovisual production process. It allows professionals to discover the richness of a specific location and its facilities as well as the human potential that offers. Catalonia is a perfect set in all senses. We are not only talking about a pretty picture but also an accessible shooting place and logistically suitable.

The exhibition "Scouting in Catalonia", which can be seen at the Palau Robert Gardens until 26 April, reflects the special view from all these professionals and collects a small sample of the vast photographic archive available. It shows unusual images from Catalonia that go beyond touristic sites making them to turn into a privileged set.

The book /catalog Scouting in Catalonia will appear with 500 copies to be distributed within municipalities, production companies and industry professionals. It is curated by Núria Vidal and includes interviews with professionals who have filmed in Catalonia, literary texts, a brief review of the history of Catalonia as a film stage and instructs about the process followed in taking the final decision for a specific location.

From 13 to 17 April there will be an international professional meeting (location managers, producers, production managers) in Catalonia. The goal is to give them to know the potential of the territory and put them in touch with.
