The Mostra Internacional de Films de Dones celebrates 30 years

Presents its program

The Mostra de Dones celebrates three decades of work committed to the highlight of women's cinema. To commemorate it publishes the book A journey through film feminisms. 30 years of the Barcelona International Women's Film Festival, written by Marta Selva and Anna Solà, co-founders of the Mostra and edited by the Barcelona City Council.

Among the novelties of this edition, we find the Archipiélago Creation Laboratory with the Center d'Arts Santa Mònica and the virtual exhibition Rutes of desire. Navigation chart for the Archipelago, with La Virreina - Centro de la Imagen. In Revolted Imaginaries offers a program aimed at students of primary education, ESO, high school, and training cycles of different educational centers in Catalonia.

In addition to the usual Panoramic and Children's programs at the Filmoteca of Catalonia and Filmin, Feminist Film Manifestos at the CCCB and Tabakalera - Donostia and New Women Latin American Creators, at the Girona Cinemas with Casa América Cataluña. There will be outdoor sessions in different squares of the city too.

This edition has an itinerant program Film Feminisms of La Mostra. It will travel to different film libraries and cultural spaces in Spanish and European territory. In March at Matadero Madrid, we will see an 8-session Carte Blanche for the Cineteca. The program Women Known (also) at Home, dedicated to Women Catalan filmmakers, will also be seen in fifteen municipalities in the Catalan territory. The initiative La Mostra Moves will take a selection of films programmed in different editions in several towns and cities.
