Filming has wrapped on the fourth film by actor, producer, and director Diego Luna. Ceniza en la boca is an adaptation of Brenda Navarro's novel, which is of the same name, and has been filming since February in various locations in Barcelona and Madrid. Production will now continue in Mexico City. The film stars Mexican actresses Anna Díaz and Adriana Paz.

Ceniza en la boca tells the story of Lucila, a 21-year-old woman searching for her place in the world while facing family pressure, misogyny, and racism. She travels to Spain with her younger brother, Diego, to reunite with her mother, Isabel, who emigrated years before.
However, the adaptation is complex, and the fight for independence collides with an unforgiving reality. Between precarious jobs and the responsibility of caring for Diego, Lucila finds herself trapped in a cycle of frustration. Only by facing her deepest pain will she be able to transform into the woman she has always wanted to be. 

Ceniza en la boca is a co-production between Mexico and Spain with the production companies La Corriente del Golfo, Animal de Luz, Inicia Films, and Perro Azul.
