A new series that The Mediapro Studio films for Playz (RTVE)

Barcelona is the setting for this series, a youth comedy-drama produced by RTVE in collaboration with Big bang Media (The Mediapro Studio). You can see it on Playz.

Ser o no ser is created and written by Coral Cruz. The series has six 25-minute episodes directed by Marta Pahissa. Ser o no ser tells the story of Joel, a 16-year-old trans adolescent who dreams of becoming a great actor, while also facing the emotional challenges of his recently initiated transition. It's the debut of the young trans actor Ander Puig, who gives life to the protagonist. The cast is completed with Júlia Gibert, Berta Galo, Lion, Enzo Oliver, Nil Carbonell, Eduardo Torres and Anna Bernal. In addition, Emma Vilarasau returns to audiovisual after almost a decade dedicated exclusively to the theater. Vilarasau plays Carmen, the acting teacher, and Anna Alarcón is the main character's mother.

From the beginning of the project and throughout the pre-production process, the series team has had the professional advice of two members of the trans collective: Miquel Missé (sociologist) and Damian Díaz (educator). Both are present at key moments of the production. Such as the documentation and writing phase of the series or the announcement of the casting of the protagonist.
