Synopsis:

Barcelona 1929-1931: The Universal Exposition has begun and the city is experiencing a period of great splendor and reckless squandering which the Stock Market Crash of 1929 would soon bring to a halt. "Vida Privada" is a story about three generations of one family and reflects the decadence of Barcelona's bourgeosie in the early 20th century. The Lloberola's belong to the city's aristocracy, but their brilliant past has been left behind. Driven to ruin because of their inability to adapt to the changing times, all of the family members struggle to overcome the challenges they face, each in his or her own way. The eldest son, Frederic, manages to ruin the family's reputation and dies poor and forgotten. In contrast, the youngest brother, Guillem, is ready to fight tooth and nail, and without scruples, to reach the top of the social ladder again. Maria Lluisa, the young, rebellious granddaughter, challenges the established order by becoming the first working woman of the family line. The stories play out in this emotionally intense production, charged with powerful characters and situations that richly portray the complexity of human behavior and relationships.
