Victoria has just found out she has only a short time and her main concern is to sort out her teenage son Mauro’s future. After years of estrangement from her ex-husband, Salinas, who is Mauro’s father and a renowned musician, Victoria contacts him to propose selling the house they own joined in Galicia, named Atlanits, in order to leave her son with some funds behind him. But Salinas refuses and proposes that Mauro go to live with him. Victoria disagrees because she distrusts Salinas, who has surreptitiously begun to strengthen his relationship with Mauro. Victoria decides to tell her son about her illness, but Mauro, incapable of coming to term with his mother’s having to die, takes refuge in the self-interest protection of his father.
The relationship between mother and son deteriorates little by little. Mauro runs away to La Coruña, where he discovers the lies and wretchedness of his father. When Victoria goes to fetch Mauro at the house she and Salinas had once shared, they finally reconcile the past and father and son agree to settle their differences and allow Victoria to live her last months in peace.
