Mario is in an unhappy marriage marked by his domineering wife. He's a writer, but he's going through a creative block. A night ends in a bar in Barcelona's Chinatown. There he sees a fascinating blonde throwing a wad of bills at his pimp's face and angrily leaving the premises.

Mario and the pimp, called Ortega, start a conversation. Her name is Marta, and they live together. Ortega confesses that he is not interested in women. He is with her out of interest. From this moment on, Mario will do his best to get to know her and help her.
