Puig-reig is located in the south of Berguedà, at 86 km / 1h. of Barcelona, ​​on a hill next to the river Llobregat. In addition to the town of Puig-reig, its municipality consists of 7 industrial colonies: l’Ametlla de Merola, Cal Marçal, Cal Riera, Colònia Pons, Colònia Vidal, Cal Casas and Cal Prat. All these places have their origin in the textile colonies that were established along the river Llobregat during the 19th century.
