PROTOCOL GUIDE FOR THE PREVENTION OF SEXIST AND LGTBI-PHOBIC VIOLENCE IN THE AUDIOVISUAL SECTOR

07/08/2024

Official presentation

The Catalan Cinema Academy and the Conselleria d'Igualtat i Feminismes have presented the first Guiding Protocol for the prevention and addressing of sexist and LGTBI-phobic violence in the audiovisual sector. This pioneering text in the State prepared together with the industry, provides for specific actions and measures throughout the film process.

This guide protocol offers a model of action and approaches with guarantees of non-repetition to ensure comprehensive reparation for people affected by physical, psychological, sexual, or digital violence. Adherence to this protocol by the Catalan production companies will simplify the procedures to activate the investigation. At the same time, it will imply a commitment to transparency and guarantee the application of the established preventive measures.

The protocol also recognizes the figure of intimacy coordination, a new professional profile. This figure will be a reference for preventing violence in rehearsals and filming.
