We visit the locations of the second season of 'Citas Barcelona'

A series from 3Cat and Prime Video

Adaptation of the popular Citas series. This season follows the line of the first, where the characters meet each other through the internet. Filmax produces the series. It premiered on 3Cat and Prime Video in 2024. You can watch it on demand on both platforms. The second season also has a wide cast, as usual. Directed by Nely Reguero, Gemma Ferraté, Paco Caballero, David Selvas, and Eric Navarro. Navarro is also a screenwriter with Dani González, Clara Esparrach, and Iván Mercadé.

The second season of Citas Barcelona was filmed in Barcelona for 34 days. In this article, we review the locations of the series chapter by chapter. Karen Oliva is the head of locations. Clàudia Torrents is the localization assistant. Andreu Dorda and Nuria Folch are the localization assistants. And Natalia Isla is the intern for localizations. Beware, there may be spoilers.

 

Chapter 1. Pol-Mireia/Laia-Bruno.

Nely Reguero directs Pol and Mireia's section. Gemma Ferraté directs Laia and Bruno's part of the chapter. This chapter begins with several daytime images of the city: an aerial view with the sea in the background, the towers of Barcelona Cathedral, Paseo Sant Joan, and the corner of Enric Granados and València streets. In Enric Granados Street, we see Pol (Joan Solé) walking down the same street between València and Mallorca. We see how he enters the restaurant Jacqueline (Enric Granados, 66). There, he has a date with Mireia (Bruna Cusí).
 

 

Meanwhile, we see several women talking inside a funeral home. These scenes are inside the IMO ophthalmology clinic (Josep Maria Lladó, 3). One of the women is Laia (Anna Castillo). Her cell phone rings. It's Bruno (Ricardo Gómez), his date. He is there. Laia's mother (Marta Pérez) approaches them. Later, Bruno and Laia walk around the outside of the building.

We returned to the restaurant with Mireia and Pol. Mireia leaves the restaurant hastily. Afterward, we see Pol again at the corner of Enric Granados with València Streets, at the height of number 205. He is looking at his mobile. Later, he is on València Street again, but at the height of number 201, crossing a traffic light. He is looking for Mireia.

Later, we see an image of the Tibidabo Ferris wheel with the city in the background and then views of the city. We are back outside the supposed funeral home. Afterward, we see how Laia and Bruno enter.

 

 

Next, we see images of Diagonal and people walking. It's raining. We see a building and some bikes under portals. People are in a square walking with umbrellas. They are on Llull Street, 321. The International Business Center of Catalonia is there. Afterward, we see Pol walking down the street. He goes down some stairs. There is a bus stop, and Mireia is there. They are in the Nord Square. Finally, Mireia and Pol go to her flat. The interior is at Pujades Street, 77-79.

It is getting dark, and we see an image of Montjuic with the MNAC and the Calatrava Tower in the background. Meanwhile, Laia and Bruno say their goodbyes at the door of the funeral home. He gets on his motorcycle. The chapter ends with Bruno driving along the road from Vallvidrera to Barcelona, on the section of Tibidabo at the Vallvidrera fire station, between numbers 43 and 53. The motorcycle passes, and the camera pans out. We can see views of the city.

 

Chapter 2. Susy-Yoli/Íngrid-Yuyu

Nely Reguera directs the Íngrid and Yuyu section, and Paco Caballero directs the part of Susy and Yoli. The chapter begins with an aerial view of the city with the Tres Xemeneies park in the foreground. Then we see the section passing through Glòries from the Disseny Hub with Els Encants on one side, people walking along Diagonal at the height of the Poble Nou Campus, and later, more people walking next to the Agbar Tower.

We see Íngrid (Asia Ortega) walking along Pujades Street. In the background, we see the Llacuna metro stop. She turns the corner until she reaches the Bcn Media Hub at 67 Roc Boronat Street. Then, she enters the building. There, she meets Josep (Iñaki Mur). Yuyu (Elisabet Casanovas) is going to interview her on her podcast. She is a Barça player.

 

 

After the opening credits, we see views of the city at night, the Fòrum Square with Diagonal, the Agbar Tower illuminated in the background, and the exterior of the Forum Auditorium. Susy (Betsy Túrnez) is talking on the phone in her car. She gets out and enters a building. The exterior and interior are at Joan d’Àustria Street, 95. There, she has a date with Yoli (Yolanda Ramos). Later, they leave together and get in the car. Then we see the car parked in a lot. The two of them have a conversation. They are in the lot at Meridiana Avenue, 44.

Later, we see an image of the city at night, Jaume I Tower, and the port. We see the Mapfre Tower and the Arts Hotel with Marina Street, Passeig Sant Joan, and the Arc de Triomf in the background. Yoli arrives at a bar where Santi (Eduard Buch) is playing pool with a girl. Santi is the husband of Yoli. They are at the Hotel Casa Gràcia on Passeig de Gràcia, 116bis. When they leave, we see Santi's car and Yoli and Susy unleashing their fury on it.

 

 

After the radio interview, Yuyu talks to Íngrid at the door of the Bcn Media Hub again. We see more images of the city at night: the Drassanes Square and the cars driving by, Rambla del Poblenou, the door of the horchateria El Tío Che (Rambla del Poblenou, 44-46). Finally, Susy and Yoly return to Yoly's house.

 

Chapter 3. Alan-Maru/Esperanza-Pedro

Gemma Ferraté directs this episode. It begins with an aerial image of the city during the day with the sea in the background. Then, we see the sculpture Waves by Andreu Alfaro on the Barcelona Pier, the cable car passing in the background, the statue of Columbus, and the Paral·lel at the entrance to the Apolo Theatre. We see a motorbike riding down Paral·lel, turning onto Cabanes Street, and continuing until it reaches the background on Font Trobada Street. We see it arrive at the Sortidor Square, turn onto Magalhães Street, and park in front of the Cal Marino Winery (Margarit Street, 54). We see a boy, Alan (Tommy Aguilera), get off the motorbike, enter the winery, and meet Maru (Margarida Corceiro).

 

 

After the series' opening credits, we see aerial views of the city with the port in the background, followed by the Mapfre Tower and the Arts Hotel. Esperanza (Lola Rodríguez) rides a bicing bike outside the Sant Antoni Market. She parks her bike on Ronda Sant Pau. We see her enter Bar Cristis (Parlament Street, 36). There, she has a date with Pedro (Óscar Casas). Someone stole Pedro's mobile phone, and they are following him with an app.

They are both walking and looking for their mobile phone on the street. They go inside a shop to ask the clerk. They are at Cash Compra Exchange, on Comte Borrell Street, 14. They chase the suspect. He is on Marqués de Campo Sagrado Street. The suspect is riding a scooter on Sant Pacià Street, and Pedro and Esperanza follow him on foot along Riereta Street. Then they turn onto Cera Street. The suspect enters number 13 while Pedro and Esperanza hide in a nearby doorway. There is a party, and they decide to come in. Fernando (La Dani) opens the door for them.

 

 

Later, we see another aerial image of the city, the roof of the Born, and a motorbike driving along the Paral·lel with Maru and Alan. We see them in front of the Arc de Triomf and then along Passeig Colom. We can see them passing by La Gamba de Mariscal. Then they drive through Poble Nou, along Carrer Pujades. They go to Maru's flat at Carrer Pujades, 85.

Finally, we see a night image of Barcelona with the Colom building in the foreground, another of the illuminated Agbar Tower, and the Hesperia Tower hotel in Hospitalet. And Esperanza and Pedro at his flat. They are on Rambla del Raval, 2.

 

Chapter 4. Manu-Aroa/Astrid-Mario.

Nely Reguera directs the part of the chapter starring Manu and Aroa. Èric Navarro directs Astrid and Mario's section. The chapter begins with an aerial view of the city. Then, we see the attraction of the Embruixabruixes of Tibidabo, some roofs, and the MNAC in the background. After that, we see the Edifici Colom and the Hotel Vela in the background. Later, we see a bike circulating in the bike lane of Enric Granados Street. Astrid (Aina Clotet) is at home consulting with a psychic, Trini (Carme Fortuny). The interior is at 80 Trafalgar Street.

After the opening scene, we see Manu (Adrián Lastra) on the AVE. The train has broken down. Aroa (Natalia Tena) is walking along the Picasso promenade under the arches. She is listening to a podcast. Manu calls her. She crosses the Mercantil passage while they are talking. We can see the Umbracle of the Ciutadella park in the background. She stops at the corner with Marqués de l’Argentera Avenue. The, she turns back and crosses the traffic lights to the Ciutadella park. She sits at the Cigonya and Guineu fountain in front of the Umbracle.
 

 

 

Later, we see a new aerial view of the city, the panoramic wheel of Giradado del Tibidabo, Gran Via at number 605, and the roof of the Coliseum theater in the foreground. Astrid leaves the porch of her house and walks down the street. We see her at the beginning of Passeig Sant Joan with the Arc de Triomf in the background. She is crossing the traffic lights. Then she arrives walking and enters the Mediterráneo bar (Balmes, 129). People do stand-up comedy there. Inside, she talks to the waiter Aguiló (Jorge Suquet), a friend of her. Her date, Mario (Aitor Luna), arrives.

 

 

We return to Aroa, who is lying on the grass of Ciutadella Park. She is still talking on the phone with Manu. Then we see her walking next to the Umbracle and the Martorell Exhibition Centre. Later, we see a couple of aerial views of the city. In the foreground, we see the rotating clock located on the tower of the building that was the headquarters of BBVA in Catalunya Square. In the background, we can see the cable car, the Tower of Jaume I, the Columbus' statue, the Passeig de Columbus, and people walking. And we return to Ciutadella Park again. We see Aroa walking along Passeig de Pujades and the park in the background. She has crossed to the La Querida bar at Passeig de Pujades, 33. Aroa enters, and she sits at the bar. Later, we see Aroa on a bench next to the bar.
Finally, we see a nocturnal image of the city, the Colom building and the Agbar Tower illuminated in the background, some rooftops, the Hotel Arts, and the Mapfre Tower. Astrid is at home. Meanwhile, Manu arrives at the França Station. We see him crossing Marqués de l’Argentera Avenue. Aroa is at the entrance to the station. They meet in the middle of the pedestrian crossing.

 

Chapter 5. Sara-Buba/Aitana-Hugo

David Selvas directs. The episode begins with an image of the city with the Collserola Tower in the background, the city with the port in the background, the towers of the cathedral, the Sagrada Família seen from the roof of La Pedrera, people walking down the steps of Passeig Joan Forestier, a couple walking along Passatge de la Pau and people walking along Carrer de Trafalgar. Aitana (Emma Arquillué) walks and looks at her mobile phone, looking for an address. She stops in front of the Homes Place Gym (Ausiàs March 9-11). There she met Hugo (Alfons Nieto). He is a spinning teacher.

Meanwhile, Sara (Mara Jiménez) is in the bathroom of a restaurant. At a table, she meets Buba (Arnau Puig), her date. They are at the Muticlub (Carrer de Còrsega, 318). Sara leaves, and Buba follows her down the street. They are on Santa Teresa Street, 6.

 

 

Later, we see a nocturnal image of Barcelona illuminated by the sea with the beach and the Vela Hotel in the background. Then we see the Agbar Tower from the Mapfre Tower and the Arts Hotel, Pelai Street, the Triangle, and the entrance to the metro and the Ferrocarrils. Later, we see the entrance to the Girona subway stop and Consell de Cent Street between Girona and Bailén Streets. And we see Sara and Buba walking along Girona Street with Consell de Cent. Between Aragó and Consell de Cent, they sit at a table to have a picnic. They are on Girona Street, 78.

Next, Aitana and Hugo walk along Lluís Piadós Street to Trafalgar Street. They cross to go to an art gallery. It is the Bombon Projects -Art Gallery (53 Trafalgar Street).

 

 

Finally, we see a night view of the city, the port from the Jaume I tower, the Rambla de Catalunya from Plaça Catalunya, Plaça de Sant Josep Oriol with the monument to Àngel Guimerà, the Passeig del Born and the entrance to the art exhibition on Trafalgar Street and its interior again with Aitana and Hugo. Then, they sit on the sidewalk, and in the meantime, Sara and Buba arrive and meet their sister, Emilia. Then, we see Sara applying lipstick on the street. She is on Girona Street between Consell de Cent and Aragó.

 

Chapter 6. Alejandro-Joana/Marina-Joel

David Selvas directs this chapter. We see several daytime aerial views of the city with the roof of La Pedrera, the Agbar Tower, and a view of Tibidabo and the Collserola Tower from the Sant Antoni market. Marina (Verónica Echegui) is emptying her mother's apartment with a friend. It is on República Argentina Avenue, 91. She puts her mother's piano on Wallapop to sell it. Then, she goes to the balcony, and she views the city landscape. Joel (Fran Perea) comes to the house with Miki (Francesc Ferrer) to see the piano.

Meanwhile, Alejandro (Asier Etxeandia) is at home playing on the console. The interior of the apartment is on Sardenya Street, 475. And Joana (Leonor Watling) is training in the garden of her house. The interior is in a house on Dolors Monserdà Street. They both start getting ready for a date. Then we see them walking down Gignàs Street. They meet right at the entrance to Riudaneres Street. There, they walk and enter the Contraban restaurant of the Whitmore Hotel, at number 7.

Later, we see Marina, Miki, and Joel taking the piano out of a van. They are in front of the Trémolo Music and Art School (Homer, 45). They go inside with the piano to try to tune it. Miki and Joel invite Marina to dinner at Joel's apartment (the interior is at República Argentina Avenue, 1).

Later, Joana and Alejandro leave Ruidaneres Street, they walk down Cignàs Street and then down Regomir Street. Then, they walk down Milans Street to Milans Square. There, they dance to the music of a street band. We see a night view of the city with the Colom building, and then we return to Joel's flat.

 

 

Later, we see an image of the roof of the Born Market. We see Joana and Alejandro walking along Serra Street and exiting onto Ample Street. There, they stop a taxi. The two travel separately by taxi. The two taxi routes are circular. Joana leaves Ample Street at Mercè Square, turns left onto Duc de Medinacelli Square, turns right along Passeig de Colom to the Colom roundabout, goes up all the Ramblas to Catalunya Square, turns onto Fontanella Street and goes down Via Laietana to return to Ample  Street via Fusteria Street. Alejandro's Taxi route starts from the same place to Anselm Clavé Street, where it turns to join Passeig de Colom to the Colom roundabout, makes a complete U-turn, and returns along Passeig de Colom, fair in Pau Vila Square, turns left along Passeig de Joan Borbó to Pla de Palau, then returns along Passeig Isabel II and enters Fusteria Street.

 

 

Finally, we see the city during the day with a view of the MNAC in the background, the photovoltaic pergola of the Forum, and the Port Vell. Marina is at her mother's house. Then, we see her driving around the city in a car. The car's route starts from República Argentina Avenue, 91. The car passes through Riera de les Cassoles Avenue, Madrazo Street, it turns through Balmes, Diputació, and Aribau, and passes through Aragó Street. We can see how it passes through Plaça del Doctor Letamendi Square and returns through Aragó with Aribau uphill to Travessera de Gràcia, turns left onto Via Augusta and Vallcarca Avenue, Bolívar Street, Riera de les Cassoles Avenue and back to República Argentina Avenue. Although, we don't see the whole route on the screen.
