The journey towards maturity of a strange pair of friends

Vintage is a TV3 and Brutal Media co-production starring Abel Folk, Lluís Villanueva, and Diana Gómez. It is a fiction comedy with touches of drama created by Juan Cruz, Rafel Barceló, Júlia Cot, and Enric Pardo and directed by David Martín Porras and Elia Urquiza. The series has eight chapters. You can see it on the 3Cat platform.

Paco (Abel Folk) crashes his car after drinking too much at a party, thinking that he can still flirt with a young girl. Pie (Carme Pla), the wife of his friend Genís (Lluís Villanueva), has all of their marriage savings stolen by a Tinder scammer. They are two friends who, close to sixty, will suddenly discover that their world is ending and the time to have a good time, too.

In this article, we review the series' locations in our city. The location scouts have been Edgar Ortiz as location assistant, Iuc Hernandéz as the location production assistant, and Javier Ejarque as location production assistant for Unit B. Be careful if you haven't seen the series because there may be spoilers.

 

Chapter 1

This episode begins with a wine presentation party in the garden of a house with a pool where you can see the views of Tibidabo. They are in the old Almirrall Library (Camino de Vallvidrera al Tibidabo, 45). Paco is at the party. There, he meets Xusa (Diana Gómez).

 

 

Meanwhile, Genís presents his book. They are in the Altaïr bookstore (Gran Vía de las Corts Catalanes, 616). And his wife gives him some bad news. Later, we see him at home in front of the computer. This flat is on Trafalgar Street, 17.

 

 

Later, we see an aerial night view of the city with the Vela Hotel illuminated and the Tibidabo Park in the background. Paco is driving along the road at night. It is the descent of Tibidabo. He passes through several streets and crashes into a furniture warehouse. It is the Brutus de Gaper warehouse in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.

Later, we see Paco in court for the car accident. The façade and the interior are in the CECOT in Terrassa. His lawyer is Dani (Albert Pla). He is sentenced to 12 months of therapy and without a driving license. Meanwhile, Genís is consulting at home. He is a therapist.

We see several streets in Barcelona. Genís and Paco are driving in Genís' car. When we see them driving, they are on Marina Street, Icaria Avenue, Badajoz Street, or Ramon Turró Street. Paco asks Genís to do therapy for him.

Later, Paco is at home having a video conference with his daughter and ex. His house is at 23 Palou Street. Afterwards, he visits Genís in his flat and meets Pie.

 

Chapter 2

Paco and Genís receive a letter to have a colon cancer test. The two friends' responses couldn't be more different. Genís arrives at his house. We see him in the doorway opening a letter. Then he enters the house. 
Meanwhile, Paco is getting ready to go out at home. Later, Paco and Xusa meet for a drink. They are at the now-defunct Milano (Ronda Universidad, 35).

 

 

Later, we see a shot of the façade of the Barcelona cathedral and some buildings, such as the Diagonal, 197. We see several cars driving around. Paco and Genís are again in Genís' car. They drive around several streets in Poble Nou while they talk. They stop at number 205 on Aragón Street, and Paco gets out and takes some boxes of wine from the boot. All the wine stops are in the Eixample at Mansó, 1; Parlament, 1 and 27 and, Viladomat Street, 44.

 

 

Later, we see several night shots of the city and the seafront with the Torre Mapfre and the Hotel Vela in the background. Then we see more streets with cars. Genís tries to sleep at home, but he can't. During the day, he and Pie explain to their son Teo (Francesc Colomer) that they are getting a divorce.

Later, Genís and Paco play squash. These scenes are at the Dir Rocafort Gym (Floridablanca, 42). When they leave, Paco finds a friend, Isaac, sitting on a bench, whom he hasn't seen for a long time, and they have a conversation. They are on Vilamarí Street, at number 17. Isaac is sitting on a bench in the park on Mistral Avenue.

Then, we see an image of the Agbar Tower. Pie and Genís visit an apartment that Pie wants to rent. The apartment is on República Argentina Street. Meanwhile, Paco eats at his father's house (República Argentina, 91). Later, Genís and Paco meet again at the Milano.

 

Chapter 3

The episode begins with an image of the Collserola Tower. Paco and his ex-wife, Lola (Llum Barrera), wait at the door of their house for their daughter Norma (Ann Perelló) to arrive with her husband Loki (Diego Villuendas) and their child Gunnar. The three of them return to live in the city and move into Paco's house.

We see several streets in Barcelona as stock images. Genís and his son are in the car in front of a building. They are on Altos Hornos Street. 41-45. Teo is about to go to a job interview. We see Genís again, waiting in the car while Teo does another interview. This time, they are on Energía Street, 21. Meanwhile, Paco and his ex-wife are having a drink in a bar. It is the Milano again. 

We see Genís again waiting for his son in the car. They are on Altos Hornos Street with the Zona Franca Promenade. We can see the Auditorium Tower in the background.

Later, Genís and Paco have a drink at the bar, the Milano again. They talk about their children. We see an image of the Sagrada Familia under construction.
 

 

The next day, Gunnar and Paco walk down the street towards school. They are on Sao Paulo Street. It is his first day at school. The interior is at the Escuela la Maquinista at 14 Ferran Junoy Street.

 

Chapter 4

This episode begins with Paco and Genís at the door of a bar. There is a sign that says the business is for sale. They are outside the Bar El Tambor, located at 17 Marià Aguiló Street, in the fiction, called Bar Manel. Then, we see an image of Obisp Street and the Telefónica building in the Forum Park. Paco and Genís walk down the street while looking for another bar with their cell phone. They are on Pere IV Street on the corner of Castilla and go up San Juan de Malta to Bar Mundial, which is Bar L'Artesana on the same street, number 150, but it has changed owners. In the end, they end up in a Japanese restaurant eating Ramen. In reality, it is in the Masía Museo Serra in Cornellà.

Later, we see images of the streets of the city. In the background, you can see the Expiatory Temple of the Sacred Heart in Tibidabo. Pie and Genís walk down a street and enter a law firm, Santacana and Associates.

 

 

Genís signs a contract with a television production company to make a program in Zoom 360. The studios are the 8TV studio in Sant Just, and when we see scenes in the parking lot appear, they are in the Mediapark studios next door.

Paco walks down the street to a restaurant. It is on Trafalgar Street, 19, and it is the Trafalgar Pizza Club, which in fiction is called The Real Broth. There, he eats with his ex. You can see an image of Diagonal Avenue at number 421 with cars and taxis passing by. Then, we see the Zurich building. Paco returns home in a cab.

 

Chapter 5

Paco and Genís are in the latter's car. They are driving along Aragón Street at number 124. When they stop, they are at Pallars Street at number 237. Later, they drive around the roundabout at the Voluntarios Olímpicos Square. In the intersection of Bilbao and Pallars streets, a scooter is driving along the bike lane. The car has to brake suddenly, and Paco gets out of the car to complain. Later, we see an image of the Royal Palace in Rei Square. Later, two buildings on Taulat Promenade (at numbers 266/270), the former headquarters of the Consorcio de la Zona Franca and the AC Hotel Barcelona Fórum (number 278).

Genís and Paco are at a wine presentation. They are at the Masía Museo Serra in Cornellà. Later, we see an image of Barcelona during the day with the sea in the background. Genís drives his car along the street again. Paco asks him to stop suddenly. He gets out and tells him not to wait for him because he will be late.

Genís parks his car at the door of the TV studios. Meanwhile, Paco is on the terrace of his house when his daughter arrives. From his home, you can see the Collserola Tower and the Tibidabo. Genís gets in the car at the door of the studios. We see an image of the beach at night. Genís and Paco have a drink again at the Milano.

 

Chapter 6

Paco injures his back and has to stay home resting. He would like everyone to be there for him, but his family has to continue their daily life. Paco will fall into a spiral of victimhood until Norma gives him terrible news. The surprise return of someone unexpected will strain the relationship between Genís and Pie again, but, on the other hand, will cause a rapprochement between Genís and his son Teo.

Paco and Xusa play squash. They are at the Dir Rocafort Gym again. Then, we see Genís and Paco on the terrace of the latter's house. We can see the Tibidabo in the background and the Collserola Tower. They are having a therapy session.

 

 

Pie and Genís visit the Mossos police station. They have found the scammer. They enter through the door, and we see them inside the offices. Meanwhile, Paco has to go pick up his grandson from school. Genís talks to his son at home, and then we see him at the door of the Mossos police station again.

 

Chapter 7

This episode begins with Paco smoking a cigarette at the hospital's entrance. He is next to a clown. They are at the emergency room door. In reality, they are at the parking entrance of the Hospital del Espíritu Santo in Santa Coloma de Gramenet. Then we see Paco, Lola, Pie, Gunnar, and Loki in the waiting room. Later, Genís arrives. We see several corridors and rooms in the hospital. Genís meets an old acquaintance, and they eat at the cafetería of the hospital. All these scenes were in Igualada in the 4D Health complex. Paco and Lola talk outside the hospital, and we can see the views of the city. In the background are Tibidabo and the Collserola tower.

 

Chapter 8

The episode begins with Paco and his lawyer in court. We see them leaving through the door. Paco meets Xusa at the Milano, and they have a drink at the bar. Later, Paco celebrates his birthday at home with his family. Meanwhile, Genís is on TV. Later, the two of them have a drink at the Milano. The episode ends with a general shot leaving the terrace of Paco's room towards the city, and we see Tibidabo and the Collserola tower in the background.
