In 2024, the Catalan Film Academy presented a specific guidance protocol for the sector, and they are currently working to ensure that small companies can easily join and that all industry professionals are aware of the measures that companies must implement. As you know, every company is required by law to have measures to prevent and address gender-based violence in the workplace.

The Victim Support Service for Gender-Based and LGBT-Focused Violence in the Audiovisual and Performing Arts Sector highlights three elements of the document that can help you eradicate and address violence in your workplace.

1. Specific preventive measures for each department and project phase: you can find a wide range of them in the protocol, which you can consult and download from the website.

2. The Victim Support Service for Gender-Based and LGBT-Focused Violence in the Audiovisual and Performing Arts Sector is available to you.
This is a free, confidential, external service specializing in gender-based violence. If you have experienced violence, witnessed it, or have questions, you can contact us by email at atencio@serveiatencio.cat or by WhatsApp or call 648526848. Within 24/48 hours, you will receive initial psycho-legal consultation, in which you will be advised on the options available to you depending on the case.

3. In the event of a situation of gender-based violence in the workplace, we remind you that it is the responsibility of companies to address it. In the protocol, you will find a specific section on how to address these situations. Aware of the difficulties this entails, the Catalan Film Academy has also worked to secure the necessary financial support. The Department of Culture has opened a grant line to cover 80% of the costs of hiring specialized personnel (a lawyer and a jurist) who will help you navigate this process effectively.
