Directed by Lluís Maria Güell, this TV Movie is a biographical approach to the life and work of the poet Jacinto Verdaguer. The film has a screenplay by David Plana, based on a story by Enric Gomà, Teresa Vilardell and Plana himself.

El enigma Verdaguer makes a journey through the life of Jacinto Verdaguer, popularly known as "Mosén Cinto", poet and churchman of the nineteenth century, who had a random and exciting life, a movie life. He lived the literary glory and became the most prestigious poet of his time, but circumstances, and his own indomitable and proud character, caused his downfall. El enigma Verdaguer is the story of the rise and fall of this man, the main literary myth of the Catalan language. A very well known and unknown character at the same time.

The cast of El enigma Verdaguer is formed by Ernest Villegas, in the role of Jacinto Verdaguer, Roger Casamajor, David Marcé, Diana Gómez, Laia Manzanares, Clara Segura, Pere Arquillué, Bea Segura, Llum Barrera, Dafnis Balduz, Aida de la Cruz, Pepa López, Francesc Orella, Juanjo Puigcorbé, Pau Durà, David Vert, Carlos Serrano-Clark, Lluís Villanueva and Xavi Sais. It is a co-production of RTVE, TV3 and Diagonal TV.
