From the documentary series America to me by Steve James, where the filmmaker moves into one of the most progressive and diverse schools in Chicago, the festival will discuss education and film as a tool for cohesion. Can cinema and its critical gaze help improve the education system? What methodology should be followed to teach cinema in the school setting? Are there any agreed pedagogical lines? Are institutions committed to introducing art to schools or as a consumer product only?

The speakers will be Steve James (American filmmaker, twice Oscar nominee), Montserrat Planella (Artistic Baccalaureate Teacher at the Moisès Broggi Institute in Barcelona and he is part of the teaching staff of the Cinema program ongoing) and Lluís Vallvé Director of the CRAB (Center for Artistic Resources of Barcelona) both participants in our Festivals and Education Meeting and Mar Canet (Director of La Casa del Cine and co-founder of the Americana Film Fest).
