Pilar Palomero directs her second feature film. After her excellent debut with the acclaimed and award-winning Schoolgirls. It is La maternal with Angela Cervantes as the protagonist and a group of non-professional actresses.

The film tells the story of Carla, an adolescent who lives at risk of social exclusion. She arrives pregnant at a reception center for adolescent mothers. There she will have to learn to be a mother and to live with her companions. This vital challenge will force her to know herself better, including her unstable and complex relationship with her mother.

The film was shot in different locations around Los Monegros, in Aragon, and is now shooting in Barcelona and surrounding areas. They produce Inicia Films and Bteam Prods.
