Barcelona in phase 2

As you know, Barcelona entered phase 1 of the deconfinement and therefore, filming is allowed again. From June 2, permits can be requested. You can check the conditions to request them here. The information will be updated.

Public road:

From June 2nd you will be able to process Basic Authorizations (General Permits) through the Formalities Portal and also apply for Occupation Licenses (Specific Permits).

Parks and Gardens (and Beaches):

Parks and Gardens: From June 2 you can start requesting permits through the usual channels.

Beaches: From June 2 you can start requesting permits through the usual channels. Keep in mind that we are already in high season (you can only shoot on weekdays, from 7am to 10am or from 7pm to 10pm). You should also be alert as there may soon be a capacity restriction on the beaches and this may lead to something new regarding to permits on beaches. We recommend consulting before requesting permission.

Municipal markets:

From June 2, you can start requesting permits through the usual channels.

Filming will have to take place when the market is closed, with the exception of documentary / news small-format filming, which will be valued in each case.

In the 3 previous cases (Public Road, Parks and Gardens and beaches, and Municipal Markets) during Phase 1 there will be the following restrictions/conditions/recommendations (official document):

  • Specific permits have limited the number of technical team professionals to 15 (except the General Permit which is 10 by default).
  • To process the Specific permits, apart from the usual documentation, it will be necessary for the production company/applicants to provide the following documentation:
    • Plan for the prevention, safety, and health of filming by location: This document must include, in a specific way, the list of personnel who will not be able to apply the safety measures due to the requirements of the script or any other cause. In this case, it will be necessary to specify either the type of special measures or to state the impossibility. This document may be submitted with the application or at any other time in the process, prior to authorization.
    • Responsible statement from the Production company that all personnel working on the shooting have received the information and training on the products, PPE, and regulatory protocols necessary to prevent infection.
  • Barcelona City Council reserves the right to cancel depending on the evolution of the pandemic.
  • Producers will strengthen surveillance equipment to ensure the distances and location of each equipment.
  • The producers will reinforce the signaling of the perimeter to be used, as well as the different filming areas.
