Barcelona has been the setting for the filming of the new film by director Julio Medem. El árbol de la vida is a thriller that tells the story of Marc (Álvaro Cervantes) and Rebeca (Úrsula Corberó), a young couple who travels to an old hamlet that belonged to their family. There, they will investigate the common history of their family roots creating a great genealogical tree full of stories of love, sex, madness, jealousy and infidelities. A past withf hidden secrets and tragedies.

The cast is completed with Najwa Nimri, Patricia López Arnaiz, Maria Molins, Daniel Grau, Joaquín Furriel, Emilio Gutiérrez Caba, Luisa Gavasa, Josep María Pou and Ángela Molina. The film has been shot between Euskadi, Catalonia and Madrid and is a production of Arcadia Motion Pictures, Diamond Films Spain and Galatea Films in co-production with Noodles Productions (France), with the participation of EiTB and Movistar +.
