Manuel Huerga presents Barcelona, the fire rose

09/25/2014

Barcelona is the star of the latest project directed by Manuel Huerga, a movie filmed in 3D that wants to escape of the clichés of the tourist city.

After nearly 2 years of shooting, Mediapro presents Barcelona, the Fire Rose, a film that mixes fiction and documentary and makes a tour around the  Catalan capital city in a fake continuous shot.

The movie, shot in 3D, runs through the wide variety of events that the city hosts every year, such as the Mobile World Congress, the Gràcia district festivities, the Christma’s Three Wise Men Parade or Saint Johns Eve (Summer solstice) in the Barceloneta Beach, and also through emblematic buildings such as Santa Maria del Mar, La Sagrada Familia, Camp Nou or Mercabarna.

The film counts with top storytellers; Woody Allen is the narrator of the English version,  football player Eric Abidal for the French version, actor Daniel Brühl for the German version, coach Pep Guardiola for the Catalan version,  actress Rinko Kikuchi for the Japaneese version and songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat for the Spanish version.

The movie will hit the theatres next year after touring European festivals.
