La Gran Pantalla! International Film Festival for the Elderly

First edition of this free festival

From June 6 to 9, La Gran Pantalla!, the International Film Festival for the Elderly, ​​will be held. This festival is a free cultural event at the Girona Cinemas. La Gran Pantalla! wants to offer a space for the older people of the city, and at the same time, become an intergenerational film meeting place that allows to dismantle the prejudices and stereotypes about the elderly.

Organized by El Parlante, with the financial support of Barcelona City Council, the festival will include an international show of feature films and an international competitive section of short films.

La Gran Pantalla! will open with Muchos hijos, un mono y un castillo the documentary by Gustavo Salmerón, winner of the Goya for the best documentary 2018. And will close the edition, Visages, Villages (Faces and places), the latest documentary by the great director Agnès Varda.
