Among the PRO activities
The L’Alternativa festival seeks to transform how films are produced and distributed by promoting accessibility, respect, and working relationships based on trust. And it does so through a series of activities, including Cinema for Everyone and Cinema and Social Action.
At Cinema for Everyone, they will explore how to make your films more accessible from the very beginning: how to incorporate accessibility from the creative process to think of a cinema that is inclusive for everyone. They will talk from the writing of the script through the final editing and the distribution strategies. Participating are Daniela Muñoz Barroso, Cuban documentary director and producer; Joana Brabo, multidisciplinary artist and performer; and Magdalena Garzón, dedicated to contemporary dance and moderated by Èlia Sala, PhD in Translation and Language Sciences, with a thesis on subtitling for deaf children. It will be on Tuesday, November 19, from 4 to 6 pm in the Sala Raval of the CCCB. More information and registration here.
At Filmaking and Social Action, you can enjoy this talk that takes as a case study the process of creating the film Iyamanepee chantyorinti (The Deaths of Chantyorinti). It is an example of how NGOs can be allies in the creative process by providing a valuable perspective on complex realities. Director Hermes Paralluelo and Raúl Arqueros, executive producer and president of the Iquanima Foundation, which financed much of the film, will its development. Iván Guarnizo, director of Del Otro Lado, will be in charge of moderating the dialogue. It will be on Sunday, November 17, from 12 to 1:30 pm in the CB Auditorium.
