Isaki Lacuesta and Pol Rodríguez film 'Ravalear' in Barcelona

01/23/2025

A new series for Max Original

Created by Pol Rodríguez and co-directed by him along with Isaki Lacuesta, Ravalear is inspired by the true story of his family's restaurant. This thriller occurs in a popular restaurant in the heart of Barcelona's Raval. The restaurant is harassed by an investment fund when it buys the building where it is.

Isa Campo, Isaki Lacuesta, Edu Sola, Alfred Pérez-Fargas, Roger Danés, and Maialen Vélez sign the scripts for the series. Pol Rodríguez and Justin Webster are responsible for the plot. Enric Auquer, María Rodríguez, and Sergi López lead the choral cast along with Quim Ávila, Francesc Orella, Lluïsa Castell, Alba Guilera and Noor Ul Huda.

Filming will begin this spring in the Raval neighborhood and various locations in Barcelona. The city becomes another character in the story. The series is in Catalan, Spanish, Arabic, Urdu and English.

Arcadia and Supernova produce in co-production with 3Cat and UMEDIA (Belgium) and will premiere on Max in 2026 and, later on, 3Cat.
