Presentation of the Spanish Certificate of Audiovisual Sustainability (CESA)

The Barcelona Film Commission was present on May 31 at the debate on sustainability in the audiovisual sector held at the DAMA headquarters in Madrid. The ICAA and the University of Alcalá, through its CIMUART Institute for the Study and Development of Audiovisual Arts and Sciences, presented the Spanish Certificate of Audiovisual Sustainability (CESA). This certificate will serve as a recognized standard in the measures applied in sustainability in the film and audiovisual industry, designing a framework of rigorous and measurable criteria that evaluate the environmental and social performance of film and audiovisual productions. They have assured that the three main objectives of this certificate are that it is fast, easy, and economical.

In these sessions, both institutions collected proposals from the sector. They also announced they plan to have the Spanish Audiovisual Sustainability Certificate (CESA) in place in 2025. This certificate will highlight those who lead the way towards greener cinema and encourage industry professionals to adopt more sustainable practices.
