Laura García Alonso's First Feature Film
The film stars Alba Sáez, Marina Salas, and Àlex Brendemühl. Corredora is the directorial debut of Laura García Alonso, who co-wrote the script with Pol Cortecans. The film explores the risks of self-imposed demands in elite sports. Cris, an elite runner, suffers a psychotic episode that forces her to step back from high-level competition. Not everyone around her will be able or know how to help her, but Natalia, her sister, will be her refuge as she comes to terms with her condition and redefines her lifestyle.
Filming, in Catalan, will last six weeks in Barcelona and Zaragoza. Distinto Films, Elastica, and Dos Soles are producing. It is financed by ICEC and ICAA, with the participation of 3Cat and RTVE. Elastica will distribute the film in Spain.
