
We review the nominations
The actress Maria Morera, winner of the Gaudí Award for Best Female Lead 2022 for her role in Libertad, and Roger Casamajor, nominated for Best Male Lead for El vientre del mar, have announced the nominations for the XV edition of the Gaudí Academy Awards of the Catalan Cinema. 11 nominated productions filmed in the city of Barcelona; we review them in this article.
14 nominations for "One Year, One Night" by Isaki Lacuesta with Nahuel Pérez Biscayart and Noémie Merlant as protagonists. They shot in the Sala Apolo, as if it was the Bataclan venue in Paris, and also in various interiors of the city.
8 nominations for "God's Crooked Lines" by Oriol Paulo with Bárbara Lennie and Eduard Fernández as protagonists. They filmed in Barcelona at Casa Capell, the Bar Association, Fomento del Trabajo and the Corpus Christi Church.
5 nominations for "La maternal" by Pilar Palomero with Ángela Cervantes and Carlota Quílez as protagonists. They filmed in the Tibidabo amusement park and various interiors and streets of Barcelona.
2 nominations for "Wild Flowers" by Jaime Rosales starring Anna Castillo. They filmed in the Pedraforca square, on the beach and promenade of Mar Bella; in the Central Park of Nou Barris, the North Station, as well as other interiors and streets of the city.
2 nominations for "Stories Not to Be Told" by Cesc Gay with an ensemble cast. They filmed in the Ciutadella park, the Marula, the Casa Capell, the Bar Marsella, the Born, and many streets, especially in the Gothic quarter.
1 nomination for "Singing on the Rooftops" by Enric Ribes for best documentary. They filmed on San Sebastián Beach and various streets of the city as Rambla del Raval, Vía Augusta, and Robadors street.
1 nomination for "My Emptyness and I" by Adrián Silvestre for best screenplay adapted by Raphaëlle Pérez, Carlos Marques-Marcet and Adrián Silvestre. They have filmed in Barceloneta Beach, the Turó Parc and the DHUB.
Two productions nominated for best film for television: "El Metralla" directed and written by Jordi Roigé with Roger and Joan Pera as protagonists. Filmed in the gothic quarter of the city, on Bisbe street, the Church of Sant Just i Pastor, Pietat or Salomó Ben Adret streets, and San Felip Neri square. "Sis nits d'agost" directed by Ventura Durall, with Anna Alarcón and Manuel Barceló as protagonists. They filmed mostly indoors but also in Osca or Marquesa square and Ocata street.
And two more productions have been nominated for best short: "Harta" by Júlia de Paz and "Solo" by Alberto Gross, with Pablo Molinero as the protagonist.
The awards ceremony will be on Sunday, January 22, 2023, in the Oval Room of the National Art Museum of Catalonia. You have all the information here.
