David Trueba adapts one of his novels to film for the first time. Siempre es invierno is the title of the book Blitz. David Verdaguer is the protagonist alongside French actress Isabelle Renauld and Amaia Salamanca. Jon Arias, Vito Sanz, and Naiara Carmona complete the cast.
They film between Liège (Belgium) and different places in Spain such as Barcelona, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca and Calanda. Siempre es invierno tells the story of Miguel (David Verdaguer), a landscape architect, who travels to Belgium with his girlfriend Marta (Amaia Salamanca) to participate in a conference. There, his relationship ends, and after breaking up with his partner, he decides to stay alone for a few more days to rebuild his future. Broken and disoriented, Miguel meets Olga (Isabelle Renauld), a volunteer at the architecture conference. At her side, he will begin to rebuild himself and understand his new life project.
Siempre es invierno is a Spanish-Belgian production by Ikiru Films, Atresmedia Cine, Blitz la Película AIE, La Terraza Films, and Wrong Men. Bteam Pictures distribute it in cinemas
