‘Doctor Portuondo’ shoots in Barcelona

04/16/2021

Filmin's first own production

The platform shoots the audiovisual adaptation of Carlo Pardial's book in our city. The writer is also the director and screenwriter of Filmin's first self-produced series. The book recounted the therapy that changed Pardial's life and his relationship with his psychoanalyst. The series is a funny regression of autobiographical overtones to the therapy that the protagonist follows with Dr. Portuondo, a peculiar Cuban psychoanalyst who yells at his patients, swears in the name of Freud, and drinks Johnnie Walker whiskey. Jorge Perugorría and Nacho Sánchez are Doctor Portuondo and Padial's patient and alter ego.

Doctor Portuondo is a Filmin production with Chica de la Curva and is the first title that Filmin produces within its Filmin Original label, which will bring together all its original productions. The series will premiere on the platform in October 2021 and will consist of six thirty-minute episodes.
