This modernist-style building dates from 1920, and was commissioned by the Montiu family.
During the following decade it became a small hotel, and was renamed Fonda de l'Enric. From the 1950s, the National Pension Institute and a Social Security office were installed there; and currently the offices of the Municipal Institute of Progress and Culture.
Formally, it is a construction that consists of the main building, the garage and a small house. The house has a basement intended for the kitchen and service, the ground floor, a first floor and the attic.
The different facades present architectural elements and decorations typical of modernism, although in a restrained manner and in a rather sober style. The windows and openings stand out, as well as the undulating iron railings.
