Forty million years ago, nature created a salt mountain in the area where Cardona now stands. The Salt Mountain is a unique natural phenomenon in the world and is still growing while being eroded by the rain. Its 120 meters are but the tip of an enormous diapir nearly two kilometers deep. Despite its depth, we can only access the first gallery of the old mine, at 86 m. depth.

Once inside, you will be treated to close-up views of the different shapes and textures of a mineral with amazing plasticity.
