The rice cultivation in Pals dates from the 15th century. The different cycles of this cereal give rise to a changing landscape full of contrasts: mirrors of spring with flooded fields, vivid green scenery when the cereal sprouts, summer golds of the ripening grain, until it reaches the brown of winter rest. A whole network of streams, boulevards and streams host an aquatic flora and fauna of great ecological value until reaching the Basses d'en Coll and the dunes of the beach that joins to this contrast.
