Felip ll Market was built in 1966 next to what was then known as the "Indian quarter", located between Carrers Felip II, Olesa, Juan de Garay and Garcilaso. Like other markets of that period, Felip II emerged out of the need to supply the new neighbourhoods emerging on the outskirts of the city as a result of the sudden influx of migrants in the 1960s.
