In a spectacular setting in the heart of the city of Lleida stands the monumental complex of the hill of the Seu Vella. It is comprised of different buildings: the Seu Vella or old cathedral, the Castle of the King or Suda, the military fortification that surrounds the site and various archaeological remains that help us understand the present.

The complex takes its name from the monument, the Seu Vella, with initial construction beginning in the year 1203, a very open building without regular worship or furniture. The same applies to the Canonical House building where the Large Hall and the Arch House are located. The Gothic cloister built in the late 13th and all of the 14th century, with unusual dimensions, is considered one of the largest in Europe. It consists of a gallery that is open to the city, which results in an amazing viewpoint. It is also important to point out that the Gothic bell tower located at the southwest corner of the cloister offers unique views from its highest point, such as various chapels and the magnificent doors of the cathedral.
