Aragon Front, 1937. Lluís, a young Republican officer in the Spanish Civil War sent to a temporarily inactive outpost on a barren moor, meets an enigmatic widow and falls in love with her. She deceitfully seeks to forge a document that will make her the county's ruler. From then onwards, the soldier’s iron-clad morals will gradually erode until he is completely stripped of them when the woman compels him to kill his best friend in return for the means he needs to save his son’s life.
