Elisa y Marcela tells the story of these women who in 1901 became the first homosexual couple to marry in Spain. Two teachers who met at a school where they worked, became friends and then fell in love. Both lived their relationship in secret. Suspicions and social pressure caused them to make the decision to live together as a marriage, but to do so they would have to prepare a plan that deceived everyone.
