A documented musical program provides an insight the legacy left by the extraordinary singer songwriter, Javier Patricio ''Gato'' Pérez. The film records the concert where fifteen of his most memorable songs are performed by popular vocal artists of today. Record (document) and legacy (work) coexist in the narration, serving to facilitate a fuller understanding of Gato and of an era: immigration, the mixing of cultures and languages, sedentary gypsy creators of the Catalan rumba, creative yearnings epitomised in Barcelona's legendary live music club, Zeleste, the struggle and strain of the anonymous musician... a testimony on the life and will to win of a whole generation.
