Alex, a documentary film-maker, meets Beatriz, a poor, eccentric woman with a different kind of wisdom. He ends up suggesting he make a documentary on her life and her neighbourhood. During the shoot, the things she reveals provoke vital, rebellious, critical and even poetical moments. But the disparity of their worlds and the pressure to get the ratings eventually consume Alex's good intentions and put Beatriz into a critical situation.
