Situated between the sea and the mountains, just 35 kilometres north of Barcelona, Sant Andreu de Llavaneres is one of the most peaceful towns on the Maresme coast. The Mediterranean climate, rich local culture and traditions and excellent communications infrastructure linking the town to Barcelona make Sant Andreu de Llavaneres a magnificent natural film set. The old fishing village, with the fishermen's houses along Carrer de Can Sanç, contrasts with the landscape and the forest areas on Oriola Hill, with Iron Age remains, and the Chapel of Llorita in the Serralada Litoral mountains. The Modernista summer villas built by the Barcelona bourgeoisie in the early-20th century, as well as the sports facilities, which include the marina, the golf course and several riding centres, complete the diverse landscape of the town.
