Framed between the Sierra de Marina and the Mediterranean Sea, Premià de Mar is one of the most important towns in Maresme. Just 20 km from Barcelona, and connected to it by motorway, road and train, its 2.11 km² municipal area includes places of great singularity that reveal the town's seafaring past, such as the core houses ancient; the agricultural, with farmhouses such as Can Manent, Can Batlle, or Can Estevet, among others; or industrial, like the old La Lyon factory, now converted into a school. Precisely, this industrial past, dedicated mainly to textiles, is collected and explained in the Stamping Museum, while a spectacular sample of what the first settlers of the town were can be found in the Roman building of Can Ferrerons, with unique characteristics throughout Catalonia, currently in the musealization process. As for the present, the main economic activities are commerce and restaurants, with busy centers such as the Gran Vía de Lluís Companys, recently remodeled, or the new commercial area opened in the summer of 2018 in the port and which connects with a promenade that invites you to enjoy the Mediterranean coast.
