Martorell is situated between two rivers, that form part of its history, the Llobregat river and the Anoia river. Its landscape of mountain and the forest park includes a vision of the mountain of Montserrat.

The city has grown towards progress and the industrialisation, without forsaking its past, with a heritage that goes back to the times of the Romans, until the most recent buildings. They can find modernist mediaeval stages, noucentistes, houses of the 19th century or forest walks along the river. In the old part town mediaeval buildings stand alongside sculptures by Angel Orensanz.

Martorell was a film set for movies such as: Laura a la ciutat dels Sants, by Gonzalo Herralde, 1987; Chatarra by Felix Rotaeta, 1991, The Colonel Macià directed by Josep Maria Forn, 2006,  The Perfume,  Tom Tykwer, 2006 or XP3D by Sergi Vizcaíno, 2011.

Shooting permits are managed under the municipal regulations of uses of the public thoroughfare.
