Caldes d'Estrac - Maresme Film Commission

The municipality of Caldes d’Estrac, also known as Caldetes, is one of the smallest in Catalonia. Three important communication lines —the N-II national road, the C-32 motorway and the railway line along the coast from Barcelona to Girona— cross through the township, which is just thirty minutes’ drive from Barcelona. Caldes is sheltered by the Serralada Litoral mountains, which run parallel to the coast, and enjoys a superb climate, with early springs and mild summers, making the area ideal for filming throughout the year.

Throughout its history, the town’s main attraction has always been its spa baths. In the second half of the 19th century, the spa tradition made Caldetes a favourite summer resort for the wealthy middle classes of Barcelona, who built their houses here in Modernista and Noucentista style. The former Casino Colón social club, the promenade Passatge dels Anglesos and the long beaches are just some of the attractions that have helped to make Caldetes a prince amongst coastal resorts, earning the town the nickname of the “Catalan Nice”.

Those interested in filming in Caldetes should contact the local authority.
