THE BFC SIGNS A LETTER OF COMMITMENT AT THE FIRST IBERO-AMERICAN MEETING OF FILM COMMISSIONS

Celebrated on May 14 at Casa América in Madrid

The Ministry of Culture of the city of Buenos Aires, through the General Directorate of Cultural and Creative Development, and as part of the relaunch plan of the Buenos Aires Film Commission, invited the Barcelona Film Commission to the 1st Ibero-American Meeting of Film Commissions to establish a working group to develop a regional co-production agreement. Spanish and Portuguese film commissions participated in this meeting, which was within the framework of the Conexión Buenos Aires – Madrid festival.

At this meeting held in Madrid on May 14, the Barcelona Film Commission signed the Letter of Commitment that seeks to collaborate on creating an international standard supported by protocols and good practices regarding inclusion, gender equality and safety, and Green shooting. , the promotion of screen tourism, presence in markets and participation in festivals, intellectual property and adaptation of books, artificial intelligence applied to production processes, the dynamics of attraction of relevant international productions or the composition of supply in terms of resources technical, creative and productive, locations, scripts, projects in development and content, among others matters.

More than 60 film commissions between Spain, Portugal, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean are part of this Coordination. At the moment, they have signed the commitment letter:

  • Buenos Aires Film Commission
  • Cantabria Film Commission (Cantabria)
  • Castilla-La Mancha Film Commission (Castilla La Mancha)
  • Madrid Film Commission (Film Office and Film Commission)
  • Navarra Film Commission (Navarra)
  • Portugal Film Commission (Porto)
  • Spain Film Commission
  • Valladolid Film Commission

The rest (Central America, South America, and the Caribbean) are in the signing process.
