PANTALLA BARCELONA IS BACK

09/21/2020

The fifth edition of the cycle from October 2 to December 18

The Institut de Cultura de Barcelona, through the Barcelona Film Commission, wants to continue stimulating and consolidating the dissemination of the Barcelona cinematography and making it known to the public through Pantalla Barcelona. This year, we have a novelty. In addition to the film proposals made, shot, or produced in Barcelona, Pantalla Barcelona expands the selection of its films by hosting the propositions of a wide variety of festivals in our city. With this initiative, it wants to add value to the local cinema and support festivals that have also had to adapt to the health situation we are experiencing now. Its cinematographic proposals have expanded the offer of Pantalla Barcelona with very varied films of international origin.

In its fifth edition from October 2 to December 18, Pantalla Barcelona will offer twenty feature films and twenty short films in more than 40 screenings, through the screens of the Civic Centers of Can Basté, Pati Llimona, Can Clariana Cultural, Casa Groga, Ateneu Fort Pienc, Zona Nord, Vila Florida, Josep Maria Trias i Peitx and Auditori Sant Martí.

In this edition, we also renew our collaboration with the Acadèmia del Cinema with the Gaudí Cycle. And we have the city's Film Festivals again through the Catalunya Film Festivals, with the participation of Americana Film Festival, Asian Film Festival Barcelona, Festival Inclús Barcelona International Film and Disability Festival, L'Alternativa Barcelona Independent Film Festival, the Wallay Festival! of African cinema in Barcelona, the DocsBarcelona, the Mecal International Short Film and Animation Festival of Barcelona, Mostra Internacional de Films de Dones and the Moritz Feed Dog.

All the spaces where the screenings will take place will comply with the prevention, safety, and capacity limitation measures that are determined at any time by the health authorities due to COVID-19. To be able to fulfill these capacity regulations, it will be essential to reserve tickets for the screenings, which, as usual, are still free. Tickets can be booked directly on the websites of the Civic Centers, where the screening takes place. The use of masks or the staggered entry and exit of spectators following the orders of the accommodation staff will also be mandatory.
