ESCAC opens the call for the Ópera Prima Laboratory

04/06/2022

Until April 30

The Ópera Prima Laboratory is an ESCAC program to develop the first feature film project, series, or product of new audiovisual formats, whether documentary or fiction, to be exploited industrially.

ESCAC selects seven projects annually. ESCAC promotes the development of the projects until a solid proposal is achieved, with narrative and exploitation value, designed for a global market for different formats, audiences, and contents. The laboratory includes training workshops, professional tutorials, specialized seminars, the production of audiovisual materials (an audiovisual piece will be shot, be it a trailer, teaser, or project scene), and various presentations to the industry. Each project will have an economic endowment of up to 15,000 euros.

The deadline for submitting projects is April 30. You can consult the bases and all the information about the program here.

ECHAR A RODAR: "On starting a shoot, it’s increasingly normal for productions to directly seek or select different consultancies to be in charge of sustainability."

This month we interviewed Julio Blas, director and sustainability consultant at Echar a Rodar; Anna Corbella, sustainability and CSR consultant at Echar a Rodar and Elisabeth Lozano, director and sustainability consultant at Circulav. Echar a Rodar is opening an office in Catalonia, focusing on sustainable audiovisual production. We asked them to explain their work to us.
