The Riera is the backbone of Arenys de Munt, its main street, where the main shops, other establishments and buildings such as the Town Hall are. Until recently it was sandy, but recently it has been channeled to eliminate floods, which wreaked havoc when it rained a lot. There are plane trees throughout the Riera, which make it cooler in summer.
