As if it was an archipelago, the park consists of four successive islands. The first one, on the side closest to river Besòs, is not a place of passage, so it is specially intended for musical activities. It is also the park sector where the greatest number and variety of tree species are assembled.
Towards the east, the second sector represents the heart of the park and a crossing place connecting major streets. On one side, there is the Olympia sculpture, work of the Swiss Paul Suter, next to a charming three-level pond. The third island extends from a transversal boulevard and continues in longitudinal walks (running parallel and on slopes), which are set out as in a large urban exhibition hall, where temporary exhibition venues can be installed (the appropriate facilities and supply connections are available).
Finally, the last island is arranged to meet the needs of more energetic activities. It has been conceived as an empty multipurpose space surrounded by inclined planes (paved with clinker bricks in the mountain side, and covered with grass and trees in the sea side) looking into a central space, closed in on itself, which is ideal for multiple recreational uses and performances, with the public watching from these inclined planes.
