The main feature of this park is its proximity to the river, which ultimately makes it a connecting element between the city and the river area, an open-air threshold. The park and river form together one of the most inspiring spaces in Santa Coloma. Can Zam has the shape of an irregular square and features a geometric design with very sharp lines. A central promenade following the path of Víctor Hugo street, marks the dividing line between two different sectors. The first sector, closer to the mountain, has a great square and vegetation reminiscent of the neighboring hills. The second one is lower and closer to the river, with a large lake and mainly riverside plant species.
